Grace O'Malley
Zoe Taylor is still new to the offshore racing scene having bought her Cookson 12 (Previously Pazazz) in 2017 and naming it after the 1500's trail-blazing pirate, Grace O'Malley. She was unable to compete in the 2017 Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race but was able to show what her team is capable of throughout the rest of the Blue Water Pointscore, placing ninth and eighth in the Flinders Islet and 200nm Newcastle Bass Island races, then won IRC, ORCi and PHS in the light-air 180 mile Cabbage Tree Island Race, backed up with fourth in the Bird Island Race ahead of a 6th place in IRC Div3 in the 2017 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.
At the Blue Water Pointscore Prizegiving Zoe was rewarded for the first season as a boat owner by receiving the Ocean Rookie of the Year and EC "Boy" messenger Memorial Trophy awards. With this being the first time the team will be able to compete in the Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Race they will be looking for some redemption on missing it in 2017.
