In a race that punished the smaller yachts, the well-performed L’Altra Donna finished 23rd overall and won Division 4 in last year’s race, beating the likes of 2014 Rolex Sydney Hobart winner and 2014 Ocean Racer of the Year, Roger Hickman (Wild Rose). In 2013, L’Altra Donna was up amongst it and finished fourth overall behind Division 3 yachts, Brannew and Papillon and fellow Division 4 boat, Wild Rose, equating to second in Division 4. Andy Kearnan may not take part in the full offshore program, but he knows how to get the best out of his six year old yacht, including winning Division 2 of the 2013 CYCA Trophy Rating Series. Practice using the Land Rover Winter Series in which she finished seventh in Division B, inclusive of a trio of second places, should hold this yacht and crew, which includes veteran, Michael Spies, in good stead.
