Dare Devil

Originally Seahawk and then Sled, this Farr/Cookson 47 was built to contest the Kenwood Cup in Hawaii for Naohiko Sera and Kiwi America’s Cup star Roy Davies. The boat went on to race at Asian regattas. Prior to current owner Sibby Ilzhofer purchasing the yacht and renaming it Dare Devil, her West Australian owner Tony Mitchell optimised it for IRC racing and won the 2013 WA IRC Championship. Ilzhofer has kept the yacht’s credentials in order, sailing her first Rolex Sydney Hobart to win the Jane Tate Memorial Trophy, awarded to the first woman skipper to finish the race. In another first, Ilzhofer will skipper her boat in the Land Rover Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race.
