Chinese Whisper

This yacht, previously named Jethou, was recently purchased by Rupert Henry who sold his TP52 to the race’s reigning overall winner, Sam Haynes, who has renamed it Celestial and is contesting this race too. This will be Chinese Whisper’s first race with her new owner. Built by the renowned Green Marine in the UK, don’t let this yacht’s age fool you. It has a fully optimized race rigging package and an ultra-light carbon fibre hull - built purely for speed. It is ‘whispered’ that if Henry has had time to get to know the yacht, it will be hard to beat, having come out of the European racing season where the latest in development is a must to stay on top of the game. As Jethou, it won the Maxi division at Palma Vela in 2012 and went on to victories at Copa del Rey, Les Voiles de St. Tropez, the Maxi Rolex World Championship and Giraglia Rolex Cup. Has the potential to win this race and Henry has assembled some of yachting’s finest as crew.
