After a five year hiatus Wild Rose is returning to the Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race which she has won on two occasions with owner/skipper Roger Hickman, one of Australia’s most experienced offshore yachtsmen.  Commissioned in 1983 as Wild Oats by Bob Oatley for the 1987 Admirals Cup, this well recognised Farr 43 has won many Australian east coast races and championships under Roger’s watch including the 1993 Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.

Marking a personal milestone in the 25th anniversary race, Roger Hickman is competing in his 20th Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race, having also sailed the race with a wide range of other successful east coast offshore campaigns.  “Hicko” has brought together many long time sailing friends who have a special affection for the champion offshore yacht to form the 2010 Wild Rose crew.
