Two of Australia’s most respected sailing figures, Olympic silver medallist Olivia Price and legendary offshore sailor Peter Shipway, will headline the live broadcast of the 2026 Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race, bringing a wealth of racing knowledge, tactical insight and storytelling as the fleet departs Sydney Harbour at 1300hrs on Saturday 25 July.

Olivia Price is one of Australia’s most accomplished sailors, winning a silver medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games before returning to represent Australia at the Paris 2024 Olympics in the 49erFX class. A highly respected match racer and skiff sailor, Price also competed as skipper of Australia’s Women’s America’s Cup campaign and has become a familiar face behind the microphone through her commentary roles across major sailing events.

Peter Shipway is one of Australia’s most experienced offshore sailors and commentators. A two-time Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race Overall winner, five-time Line Honours winner and veteran of 31 Sydney Hobart races, Shipway has spent decades at the forefront of Australian sailing. His career also includes competing in the Admiral’s Cup, while his unmistakable voice has become synonymous with major sailing broadcasts, including the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race and Australian 18 Foot Skiff racing.

Together, Price and Shipway combine elite contemporary racing experience with decades of offshore expertise, offering viewers unique insight into the tactics, strategy and stories that will shape this year’s race to Southport.
