Matt Allen, Yachting Australia president and a past CYCA commodore, purchased the already pedigreed TP52, Shogun V (originally known as Audi Azzurra), from Rob Hanna last year and made some adjustments to suit, including a new keel fin and mast. While Allen was contesting the Transpac Race on Ragamuffin 100, Gordon Maguire skippered the latest Ichi Ban (Allen also owns a Carkeek 60 of the same name) to 12^th place overall and fifth in Division O, in its debut race under Allen’s ownership. He cleaned up at the 2015 Airlie Beach Race Week, winning four of seven races (he didn’t sail the final race), finished second at the IRC Australian Championship, won Division 1 at the Sydney Harbour Regatta with a clean slate and replicated that performance to win the 2016 NSW IRC title.
