Black Jack warmed up at Easter, taking the line and handicap double in the Brisbane-Gladstone Race. In the 2014 Land Rover Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race it repeated its third on line of 2013, and also finished a solid second overall to win Division 0 against a hot big boat fleet including Wild Oats XI, Ichi Ban, Victoire and Perpetual Loyal. Peter Harburg used the 2013 Gold Coast race to debut the former Telefonica after making necessary modifications to suit Australian sailing conditions, giving his larger rivals a run for their money with a third on line and third in Division O. All Harburg’s boats have all been skippered by Mark Bradford, and have regularly  been at the top of the leaderboard in this race, including with the former Black Jack, an RP66 now racing as Alive.
