Typhoon is an IRC version of the Farr 395 One Design and is the first boat of its type in Australia. Off the board of Farr Yacht design and built in South Africa, she was commissioned and launched in 2006 by owner Barry Kelly. Typhoon will represent Newcastle Cruising yacht Club in IRC Division and is crewed by sailors from Newcastle, Sydney and Melbourne.
