Inch by Winch was originally built for the 1981 Admirals Cup but narrowly missed selection in that series.  Following a very successful racing career including first places in the Sydney to Gold Coast and the Lord Howe Island yacht races, she was retired to the Whitsundays.  In 2007, she returned to Sydney and underwent an extensive overhaul in preparation for a new racing career.
