Owned by a syndicate of 26 owners who make up the longstanding Canberra Ocean Racing Club, the Bavaria 44 Namadgi is the club’s seventh yacht. Namadgi competes offshore every second year and cruises the alternate years. In 2007 Namadgi will contest the Audi Sydney Gold Coast, Gosford to Lord Howe Island and Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht races. The crew of seven has been travelling from Canberra to Pittwater on Sydney’s northern beaches at least once a fortnight for the past three months to prepare the boat and crew train.
