Currently sitting in third place in the 2007 Audi IRC Australian Championship, with the Audi Sydney Gold Coast Race the third event in the four part series, this Archambault 40 was Rod Jones’ previous boat. Jones, from Mooloolaba in Queensland, is currently leading the IRC Nationals with his current Archambault 35 called Alegria. A Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club boat, Cabernet Sauvignon will be crewed by Newcastle and Lake Macquarie sailors. This will be the boat’s first real test for longer offshore racing and skipper Stephen Mackay believes it will be very competitive in reaching conditions.
