After some light and variable wind conditions overnight off Smoky Cape, where we were drifting for several frustrating hours, the south westerly flow finally settled in at a consistent 10-15 knots early this morning, allowing us to resume a broad reach along the coast passing Coffs Harbour and the Solitary Islands group.
We are now doing boat speeds of around 8 knots and look forward to a late evening, early Tuesday morning arrival at Southport.
