Epsilon Crucis – Cam McKenzie gives us the good oil on Ginan’s entry into the Noakes Gold Coast

Owned by Cam McKenzie and Nigel Jones from Mornington Yacht Club, Ginan the J/111, was first purchased the from Sydney in December 2021 and together they have campaigned the boat competitively. Ginan is a great all-round boat that is fun and rewarding to sail. Her crew all hail from Victoria and they have meticulously prepared her, for both offshore and inshore racing.

Mercury rising for sailing mates from RPAYC

Mark Waterhouse and Mark Tinworth will enter the Noakes Sydney Gold Coast this week after a few year's hiatus from the race. Representing the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club this pair of friends have jointly owned race boats for almost two decades. Two years ago they decided to upgrade from their Beneteau 44.7 Le Billet to Mercury. Mercury is a modified Farr 40 with a heavier keel, twin wheels and modified rudder and boom. All mods have been done with a good IRC number in mind.

David Griffith’s*Whisper, formally know as Chinese Whisper is a boat well known in the sailing community. It has a beautiful and sleek design, that exudes perfection. Needless to say, when she heads for the start line for the Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race, she will be looking ultra-competitive. In 2021 Whisper won overall honours in the SOLAS Big Boat Challenge, cementing her Mini Maxi Division win in the inaugural Income Asset Management Australian Maxi Championship.
