Smuggler Takes Second Across the Line, Provisionally Leads on IRC Handicap

Sebastian Bohm’s Smuggler, skippered by Tim Davis, crossed the finish line at 0714hrs just as the sun rose over Main Beach on the Gold Coast. The reigning Audi Centre Sydney Blue Water Pointscore champion completed the race in 1 day, 18 hours, 14 minutes and 29 seconds.

After departing Sydney Harbour, the team committed to an offshore route, rocketing north between 30–50nm off the New South Wales coastline, she averaged 9.1kts up to Gold Coast Main Beach.

Smuggler now sits as the provisional leader on IRC handicap.

GMW Pennant Hills currently sits second on IRC, they have to finish by 1956hrs to take over the number one spot. In third is currently Jupiter, they have to cross the line by 28 Jul 2230hrs
