Noakes Group selected to service Young Endeavour

Noakes Group, a CYCA Official Sponsor, has been selected as the industry partner to deliver services to Sail Training Ship (STS) Young Endeavour.

Young Endeavour is Australia’s sail training flagship, operated by the Royal Australian Navy.

It is primarily used to provide youth development and sail training to Australian youth through the Young Endeavour Youth Scheme.

Since 1988, more than 14,000 young Australians have sailed on Young Endeavour.

Noakes Group, Australia’s leading general marine company, which is the Title Sponsor of the CYCA’s Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race, will deliver services to Young Endeavour until the end of its service life.

Sean Langman, Managing Director of Noakes Group and a CYCA Member, said: “Noakes Group is proud to support the Royal Australian Navy with the sustainment of STS Young Endeavour.

“Young Endeavour is pivotal to Noakes Group’s commitment to Australia’s youth.”

The company will maintain Navy’s Young Endeavour at HMAS Waterhen and provide support to its crew during operations away from their home port in Sydney.

Young Endeavour has sailed more than 400,000 nautical miles, including two world voyages and four circumnavigations of Australia.

Australian youth aged 16-23 can apply to be part of the program.
